our story

Tammy & Walter grew up in the same neighborhood.
They have known each other since kindergarten. SO what took so long for them
to fall in love? Walter describes it simply as . . . the friendship.
Tammy laughs and seems confused that his excuse for not asking her
out was "friendship". However, Walter stands his ground and explains
that he had so much respect for her & their friendship that
it scared him to think a romantic relationship might complicate things.
Tammy, dazed & confused, laughs as she replies that his excuse doesn't hold up.
But in Walter's eyes, anyone could see his genuine concern that his friendship
with this beautiful girl was of the utmost importance to him.
He was scared & could not bare the thought of ever loosing his childhood friend.

So Tammy, being a risk taker and seeing this boy as more than just her friend . . .
well, she made the first move in suggesting they try one date.
Walter was shocked by her boldness and could not respond to her suggestion.
After a couple days, Walter called Tammy.
With a big smile on her face she answered the phone and simply said
"OK . . . I'll give you a second chance" and she laughed.
But this time Walter wasn't scared, he was more attracted by her strength & confidence.
He decided to take that chance.
To take a chance on love & take a chance at romance with his childhood friend.

Walter now says they are in it forever!
The friendship . . . the romance . . . ALL in . . . forever!

Their new life as husband & wife began in Savannah, GA.
Under the historical oaks trees, draped with spanish moss, Walter took Tammy
to be his wife & promised to keep her as his friend.
There was laughter, smiles, hand holding, kissing, sunflowers, red velvet cake,
a buggy ride with a horse named Ladybug & a romantic walk in the park.

Tammy & Walter . . . I thank you for sharing your story, your friendship
and trusting me to capture the images that you will surely share with your
kids & grandkids when you are old & gray.
Thanks for showing me that love is best when built
on a foundation of friendship & trust!
